One likely factor is that while the weekend for many couples is time to be together, midweek is when they might catch up separately with friends of their own gender. SATC2 is performing better on "girls' night" than on "date night", predictably enough. Over the past four weeks, the film has grossed just £5.03m on Friday-Sunday, against £9.18m from Monday-Thursday.
